Samantha and Jesse are a really wonderful couple and I had a blast doing their portraits this week.
I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer!

Scheduled a few weeks out, we certainly weren’t anticipating a mid-May downpour. Though perhaps we should have, as it’s late spring in beautiful Colorado, where (like seemingly everywhere else) the weather is as capricious and so often so cruel and inconvenient. While I stood on the Millennium Bridge, looking out off the edge of either end, I was struck with one, two, countless raindrops and ran back to my car to grab my jacket. The rain let up just as Jenn and Greg climbed the stairs, which I was thankful for, but now everything was soaking wet and sitting down on anything was basically out of the question. Now what?, I thought.
But! Bless their hearts… these two arrived in good spirits (despite being moderately damp) and were immediately the most fun I’d had all day. Within five minutes I felt as if I’d known them for years. Their love radiates in the way they look at and touch each other, and the genuine laughter they produce in choir. I cannot wait for their wedding in October and, frankly, feel as if I made new friends in the short time we hung out.

Collin and I have been friends since high school. We used to all pile into my beat-up, barely-running, sounds-like-it-might-explode ’87 Mercedes wagon and go see ridiculous movies and he would, on the entire ride back, pelt me with spitballs from the back seat.
Glamorous, I know.
What I’m saying, though, is that we’ve been good friends for a while now. I was so stoked that he and Cameron wanted their photos taken! What a handsome pair of fellas!

Back in high school, Cody and I used to manage the Yearbook staff from our tiny closet-turned-computer-lab. He graduated a year before me, leaving me to try try try to “want” to stay at school on a Friday night instead of going out to whatever concert was going on… anyway, we sort of fell out of contact during our college years. What a pleasant surprise, then, when he e-mailed me out of the blue to ask me to shoot his wedding!
These two are a wonderful pair. I had a blast traipsing around the Highlands with them, and I can’t wait for their wedding in August!

Sara and Chris met in South Korea, teaching English to grade school children. <3
That has GOT to be the plot of a romantic comedy.

I’ve known Jasmin for as long as I can remember knowing anyone, really. We’ve been classmates and neighbors and friends for over 15 years now without so much as a single fight. She’s silly and brilliant (a Colorado School of Mines graduate!) and beautiful and just an all around wonderful person to know and be around.
What a cute couple these two are! And their dogs! They’re color-coded to their owners, which just tickles me to no end.
